I too have been experiencing Brake shudder again. I dont put up with it too long and when its fixed its fantastic.

I phoned CRC just register a complaint and the Guy called "Guy" said that its ben fixed!!! He said he use to get complaints every day now about it 1-2 times a month.

I said then how come I keep getting it 6-10K's? My major complaint is that I have a car that should get 15K between sevices not 6-10K. He said its unusual.

The QFM pads seem a good idea and as my car is on "Custom Fleet" I hope Knox Ford uses them so I can get them fitted as soon as they machine them.

just got to hope it lasts, they seemed confident that it wouldn't come back.

Sorry to say it won't. Mine got re-skimmed again 7000km after having the SHIMS fitted to the front. The also skimmed the rear this time but they don't fit SHIMS to the rear.

When the pads wear down and Ford give me new discs under warranty I will be fitting QFM pads to them. The problem is the pads.......

There is no fix. Ford use different pads from Oct 03 but wont fit them to my car.

Cheers

Hi All

I had the discs machined and the 'brake fix' shims fitted at 15.000km, shudder is now coming back at 29,000 just in time for it's next service, how convenient.

I spoke to the service manager today re whether fitting QFM's would effect any future warranty claims and he said to hold off until the pads need replacing and we'll see what happens.

And he wonders why I burst out laughing when we had the fix done at 15,000km and he said that it's all fixed now, no more problems.

Talking to him today I get the distinct feeling that we no more about this problem than they do. Oh well here we go again.

Cheers all

Big AL

Hit the big 20k today. In 5 days it will be 9 months since I got it. New pads and rotors fitted days after getting it, not a sign of shudder. The initial cost was very much worth it, to have better brakes andnot have to visit the dealer ever few thousand k for work. 30k, here we come.

There ia a lot more pressure on the standard beakes with the power increases I've done.

Had a call from 13Ford last week. There is supposed to be another fix for the brake shudder coming out in four weeks. We live in hope.

Unless it is a change in the brake pad material spec. they need not bother to continue to waste our time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
