I doubt Ford are really that dumb! (Hmm, maybe )I don't get it.. Ford could just use other pads which would have been cheaper for them rather than machining the disks (or replacing them) so many times per car.. Chris xr6 Member 376 Member For: 20y 8m 4d Location: Shire Posted 10/07/04 04:46 AM Share Posted 10/07/04 04:46 AM More complex than just swapping pads the excess pad transfer could stem from several different causes -Poor quality pads -poor knockback or calipers which don't allow the pad to fully disengage the disc causing excessive heat and excess pad layer transfer and then shudderThere are other causes this is all I can think of right now all cause excess pad transfer thoughThe machining will never fix a warped disc as once machined true so the rotors dont shudder there will be sections of disc left with less metal giving a lower thermal heat absorbing and dissapating ability, again leading to warped discs

I called 'em around May last year and they told me the Greenstuff pads we're a month away... Edited 10/07/04 11:56 AM by tupperware
