Anyone know where you can get the QFM pads in Melbourne and what they sell for

Hi teebone,

Have previously posted this info. but will do so again.

Try

http://www.ausbrake.com.au

This website should provide you with most of the info. you are seeking.

As for how much I just paid $90.00 for a complete set of QFM's & plan to install them without machining the discs just as another forum has done with excellent results. Will post my results when new pads have been installed & tested (given the treatment)! I fully expect shudder to disappear with the added benefit of improved braking as has fellow forum member.

This is not really an issue for street use. Unless you drive like a total nutter.

Is he talking about Cro again?

Oi!! I learnt the hard way... :P

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but what helps to cause brake shudder is a lot of city/spirited driving then when you get home you pull the hand brake up, what happens when you have the hand brake on while the brake pads/discs are still very hot is that the area where the pads are grabbing the discs stays hot longer then the rest of the disk and in time will cause a warp. At least that's how it was explained to me the other day by a pro racer. SO I guess you need to let the brakes cool down before pulling up the hand brake by putting the car in gear so it doesn't roll away

The problem is the front discs warping not the rear!

Umm! has anyone read page 35?......... <_<

Ok people

I don't know how many of you actually know me but I'll give you alittle background first then I'll get to the point.

My name is Neil and I work for a specialist brake company in Perth.

I cruise these forums at home in my own time in an effort to try to learn more about these cars and their issues. I was asked to look into these forums by both Dagabond and DBASteve a couple of times before I started to contribute.

I work for wages not on commission and as such am not here to sell components to people off these boards for profit.

However.

I may have access to items that may be of some interest to your members. Perth only at this stage guys due to distance and freight restraints.

I have access to some BA premium (PBR) brake setups- front only.

They include Calipers (black-with Ford logo)with factory pads (with free dust and squeal)

Discs.....eleptical groove.

Rubber hoses

complete bottom knuckle including spindle/bearing/ABS sensors

All bolted together and supposedly ready to fit.

Basically the same stuff Ford fits as taken from cars going to FPV for the Brembo upgrades.

I haven't seen the stuff yet but I'm told they are brand new with no mileage.

Anyone in Perth with an interest in these items can PM me and we can discuss the pricing. They will go thru my bosses business and are totally legit. Not sure how many sets are available yet but certainly at least 3 car sets. I can also discuss better rear discs and pads to compliment the package if required.

If I have breached any advertising rules please let me know and I will pull this post immediatly.

Thanks

Neil

The Macka Silver Bullet is this day having shave # 3 on his discs, together with a fitting of QFM pads. (34K)

I will have to report later on how this ends up.

Also, am having the 4th (that's FOUR Claude) attempts at fixing:

1. The Stalling problem.

2. The heat shield rattle.

3. The parking brake scrape.

However...............apart from these annoying litte problems...............ITS STILL GOES LIKE A SCALDED CAT AND YA GOTTA LOVE THAT.......... :ta:
