Had my handbrake adjusted last week when diff leak was fixed. Excellent job I thought until today when I parked on an upslope & my T started rolling downhill at a rapid rate. Back to BBF on the 10th December, whoopy deal, I'll be missing them by then anyway, love my service guys/gal.

 Thanks XR6_Turbo_Phase 11.

When I took mine in last week to get diff replaced (wrong centre ordered however), I also noticed that my handbrake had much more travel, and now the car rolls on hills also. At the time I had a set of drilled & slotted DBA gold rotors and the Ford spacer kit fitted to the front. I got it booked in on Monday for bigger injectors and to see if a different mechanic can tune the UNICHIP properly and wind the boost up to 10lb or so. So I will make around 270kW a benchmark, although I reckon the real test is a hurtle from 0 - 100 with the accelerometer on. I have also got a set of DBAs drilled/slotted for the rear and a set of Ferodo performance pads (brake parts $960), and also the entire XR8 cold air box set up $210 plus high flow filter $185, so it will be interesting to see how the car goes on monday night. I will report power gains and rear brake noise again on Tuesday oooohh the price of a kilowatt ain't getting any cheaper :thumbsup:

Getting the 15,000km service on Tues 2/12/03. Also getting the shudder looked at. Now this is a country dealer, and he knew all about the shudder thing, the need to machine the disks & fit the newly re-designed shims. Also knew about the hand brake drag problems. All "common" faults on the BA.

Didn't even bat an eyelid when I told he the brake faults, & he offered up the "Ford" fix without any prompting.

Also said that they had seen alot of cars with about 1500kms that had the fault, & even had received new cars with the shudder!

When pressed futher re a "perminant" FMC fix, he said he honestly couldn't see it ever happening. FMC had now extended the brake warrenty to 100,000kms, & they intend to just machine &/or replace rotors until warrenty expires!!!

At least this service manager seemed interested enough in solving my few warrenty issues, so we'll see if he lives up to my expectations on Tues :wassat:

hypno,

I'd have to disagree that power upgrades to the T's are cheap as chips. Mate of mine wanted big power out of Clevo powered musty. Cost him $12,000 for 550bhp, goes like f__k, but 12K strewth ruth. For less than $6,000 on your T you can get similar figures & a sh_t load more driveability than the Musty has.

Had the "permanent fix"yesterday and shudder is gone (for now anyway).

They also adjusted my handbrake and now the rear brakes make the most awful squeal I have ever heard on any car at low speed.

Those @*#^holes at ford can have it back again next week.

Geez I'm getting sick of being given the run around

 KT, I think the T is a very cheap car to modify, no argument there from me, as an ex-pat Quenslander, my problem is finding someone in Perth who knows how to make the thing go. Bang for bucks I don't think there is anything out there comparable, my problem is wasting money on false promises by would be mechanics. But I think I may have finally found one with some smarts and some genuine interest (please dear lord) . I'll let you know on Tues. Perth, a great place to live, WA, it really does stand for wait a while ;)
