Well my customer fitted his AP 4 spot kit last Friday and came to see me today.

He's had them on the car for about 10 days. Driving nice and hard by the looks. He has turned 2 of the heat paint dobs white and the red one (730 deg) is starting to chalk up around the edge.

He is however still smiling and didn't mention anything about fade despite doing a few track laps of Wannaroo.

Discs are a lovely steel blue colour too. Just as well he fitted 4000 series DBA's.

Has anyone heard anything else about the so called permanent fix? I was told by Ford customer service that the fix was a couple of weeks away.

Do they really think that another skim job will fix this problem for good?

Can one of the members with inside knowledge confirm or deny anything that has been said in the last few posts?

Spoke to my Service Manager today.

He told me he has the 'new machine' on order & expects to see it next week or earlier.

He also mentioned it was to cost about $9000, but none of the dealerships wanted to buy them. Now Ford MoCo has had to subsidise the cost to entice the dealerships to get one.

IMO if it's Ford's problem, why don't they pay for all of the cost.

Anyway, mine's in next week, hopefully it's one of the first to get the new 'fix'.

Are U fellow T drivers experiencing similar probs with the premium gear?

I have the premium stoppers. Not a single problem (beside the occasional squeel) and I have done about 17,000 k's, including 3 track days (Wakefield and Eastern C). They are excellent, don't fade, don't overheat, and I'm still on the initial pads. Awesome for such a heavy car.

From the content of this thread I made the right decision! I'm sorry to hear so many of you have had a problem.

I also have the Premium Kit and with 4500klms on the clock, I'm wrapped.

Starting to get a squeak now, but don't care ... the brakes are awesome! Really glad I optioned them.

I ve got premiums also and no probs,12k and I decided to rotate wheels front to back,doing so I had a hard time pulling off the fronts,shnizeantight.So wondering if blokes with standard brakes, how tight a fit have you got.I must say the back tyre wear was half gone compared to the front,which sounds about right,so how many K will we get from a set, looks about 30,40 thou ?

Well....I have had my discs machined with the new lathe on Monday but I have to wait for the new shims. I was told by the dealer as soon as they are told I will be contacted by either mail or phone to take my car back to have the shims replaced. I will also ge demanding new discs. Mine have been machined twice in 8K.

I don't know if it's me but the brakes feel different than they did but I also had to get my steering tightened because it was very noisy making clunking sounds when parking. Apparently the steering tention has been changed after the cars were released. Car feels like new again. Still pissed off about the brakes again and before you all go on about changing them to DBA's....I paid 50K for a car...I should't have to fork out extra for new brakes. I thought brakes were a NCO. I guess it comes with a Series 1. Really there haven't been may issues with these cars...have there fellow T owners.....Great car.

why should we pay out more money for something that should have been included in the first place.

quality stoppers should have been included in such a powerfull vehicle.

I'ts almost criminal putting krappy standard brakes on these cars.

It seems like around 8000k's is the norm. I have done 8600 and shudder is just starting. Am waitng to see what develops.

My driving is also about 50 - 50 city v highway and not much heavy braking!!!

I have just done 13000km with standard brakes and no problems.

I drive mainly in the Melbourne suburbs and I drive hard, I'm averaging 17.5 L/100km, and I use the brakes hard too. I have the auto.
