I have a customer who is pre shudder and is doing the sensible thing. Replacing the whole lot.

AP 4 spots, Ferodo DS2500 pads, braided hoses,DBA4000 spec 330mm rotors for the front and DBA slotted rears with TS2000 pads.

Hopefully should all be fitted up by end of next week. I'll try to get some pics and feedback from the customer in due course.

Well fellow Tend Setters I have got 8k on the clock now and the only shudder I have experienced was a very hard braking incident (bloody quick slow down from 115kph) to miss hitting a family of ducks, I am 99.9999% sure it was ABS system working. No other shudder at all.

Chris, I am interested to see how you go with the DBA'S. Had my discs machined last Tuesday at 11 1/2K's. Too early to tell if it will fix the problem.

I asked the service guys whether they had info on the permanent fix and was given a blank stare followed by a nup.

The standard rotors in my opinion want last does't matter how many times you machine them. Every time mine were machined they would start to shudder with only driving 900 k's. This whole situation has been a very big waste of my time and I start to get body twitchers every time I think about it, TWITCH TWITCH :D

Go the DBA's they will save you a lot of time going back and forth from the dealers.

We have done 4000 km on the DBA GOLD disc in the front no sign of shudder and I have dried very hard to make it happen all I get is just fantastic stopping power and no fad. I have just fitted the rears and will let you know how that feels tonight.

Machining the disc's after they have wrapped will not cure the problem it only removes it for a short time until the disc gets real hot again as the whole disc wraps not just the surface where the pad touches. So the new procedure that ford is talking about will not totally fix it. IAN

The bulletin said that the 'fix' is a new method and machine for disc machining. there was no mention of caliper fixes of any kind.

You're joking.....Right!

I'm not kidding..... saw it with my own eyes!!!:blush::angry:
