Guest neilmc Guests Posted 10/07/03 11:47 PM Share Posted 10/07/03 11:47 PM I'd like to ask a few questions so I can help understand this problem alittle better so I can work towards a solution.I work in the brake industry but don't own nor have driven a BA yet so I'm just going on what I have read and heard. Is this problem exclusive to XR6T and XR8 or does it effect normal run of the mill road cars ?Does the XR6T and XR8 have different factory pads to the std car ? I'm driving a Fairmont at the moment that developed the same shudder described here at about 16000km.

Take it in I would.
Trumpy What's happening? Lifetime Members 1,605 Member For: 22y 26d Gender: Male Location: Steel City, NSW Posted 11/07/03 06:33 AM Share Posted 11/07/03 06:33 AM Well I thought I was a lucky one and didnt have the shudder. I had a light pulse in the brakes just before my 15000 service, so I got them to deck them down then instead of waiting and having to make another trip back to the dealer. That was last week, and now I have full on shudder when braking from speed. The shudder has been getting progressively worse since the service. I have given them a call to ask why it is now worse after them machining them, and they just said that Ford are working on the problem, dont know the timeframe until resolution, and we just have to keep machining them until they are at replacement thickness and install new ones.Oh well, sh*t happens... Guest dbasteve Guests Posted 11/07/03 09:47 AM Share Posted 11/07/03 09:47 AM Is there any room on the poll choices for;" I had originally voted no shudder but now do"Auto's are leading the pack!No downshifting = more load on the brakes.
