There is NO WAY that ford could not have know tbout the problem - they must do many many many thousands of Kms of testing before a model is released.

I dont have a problem with them releasing the cars with the problem known - I dont like the fact the car has been out for many months and they have no solution and are happy to stuff they customers around over and over again (high horse dismounted)

Good point Cam,

At least they could have recommended to people with the auto's to go for premium brakes.

I could comment but I shouldn't except to say we are working on it and doing heaps of overtime to get the fix out as soon as possible. Dont replace your discs yourselves, ford will fix it soon! otherwise it will cost us many millions a year!

I agree with chrislak, all the running to and from the dealer days off work not getting paid, I'm loosing money which ever way you look at it each time I have to go back to the friggn' dealer for this friggin' brake problem :angry:

Went back to the dealers today to discuss my my brake shudder, the service manager acted surprised that after they machined them the problem has re-occured. I ask him abour if there is a fix on the way, he replied dont know havent heard anything. My car is booked in later this week, going to have to wait and see what happens, they cant machined them again can they, well I hope they dont.

My brakes are so bad now that when I brake from 90k's I get a bad vibration coming through the brake pedal.

All I can suggest is just keep on sending them back every time the brakes play up.

You nearlly get to the stage of laughing when they give the look of disbelief and they say that no other car has suffered the problem.Get ready for another machine job mate and to save the hassle just book your car in for shuddering in say end of July.This should give them plenty of time to organize the guy in the van to come around and do the job for you.

This just really annoys me when people get treated as if there is no problem.

Get that update happening Ford or the only thing the T will be referred to in the future is,GREAT CAR BUT S--T BRAKES.

On the brake shudder issue. I've been continually going back to Ford. Suffice to say they have tried all sorts of things, that I am not at liberty to say, but the DBA rotors DO NOT fix rthe problem! I know. The dealers have no hope of fixing the issue and the Ford engineers seem to be going down the road of making statements that the problem is one of "perception" and that the owners are to sensitive to the issue. Look out, as if Ford was serious about a fix they would have initiated a recall or something similar but on the "quiet". I've driven a Jan 2003 build XT auto, only the slightest shuuder/shimmy.(2578km on the clock) I've also driven a April 2003 build Failmont,(2800km) and it is just as bad as my Turbo. They are still building cars which are faulty. Does anyone actually believe that Ford will recify this problem, after 7 months of production. My car is a manual, so it appears that every car is affected to some degree.

I for one have had enough as my car has almost spent more time at the dealer than in my garage. Anyone interested in getting together to force a change, be that through and with the co-operation of Ford or through legal / civil means, leave me a message. If the response is big enough, I'm prepared to do the leg work, for my sake and every other owner.

I would like to know the other mods they have tried on your car to fix this problem mate apart from machineing.Have you had a set of DBA rotors fitted already with no success?.Have they tried different compound pads maybe.

The Ford proving ground guy commented that they are aware of this problem which is a start to admit it I spose but this is really not helping you or anyone else concerned here.

Taking on Ford legally,Well you just as well go out the back and tear up $100 bills to feed your fire.I feel pretty confident that a fix is on its way,Sooner than later I hope.

Why dont you email the ford guy direct and see if you get any response.He seems to be the only contact on this site with inside information that might be usefull.Maybe he can enlighten everybody why this problem is returning all the time and if it is due to a disc or pad compound problem,Or is there to much heat been generated and not escaping.Who knows.
