Why doesnt the AU shudder??

How did they step backwards from one model to another, my AU is an Auto with around 33,000 kms and not even the hint of brake shudder?? I thought the AU brakes were alright to performance wise even though the BA's are bigger....

If you read though the topic it is the pad martial that is the cause of the shudder not disc's.

Also the au's shuddered as well we went though 2 sets of disc in the 130000 km's we did in our xr6 au.

Ive got QFMs on my l300 4x4 and love them,no dust either(compared to the slug)

My grease monkey swears by them.

Hi Vik,

Where did you source the QFM's (for your van) from in Adelaide?

cheers

Every man and his dog has got them,or will get them in.

If your grease monkey hasent heard of them,Id be a bit worried.

I tried to get them for my premos but they wernt being made yet.

Ok so you guys say the AU II / AU III have it, out of the two ive driven, one being my AU III ute with 33,000 kms and mums old AU II Fairmont with 28,000 kms on it, neither of them have a hint of brake shudder, yet the BA with 27000 kms on it has had the brakes machined 3 times, then a new set of discs and machined again on the new set... All cars are pretty much driven the same way, so explain that one..... I can't!

Different materail used in the pads for one and give the au's time and will happen.

I know this because I work on them all the time.

AUII Falcon Futura 2000 Model. Have had it since new and even drove it to work today to let the Turbo have a rest.

Currently 108,000km and no brake shudder. :k24t:

So Ian does that mean if they used the same pads as the AU, that the problems would go away???

What pads are on the AU does anyone know?? Are the cheap korean sh*t or what..

No just typical hard Ford metallics, rotor wearing jobs
