The Macka Silver Bullet is this day having shave # 3 on his discs, together with a fitting of QFM pads. (34K)

I will have to report later on how this ends up.

Also, am having the 4th (that's FOUR Claude) attempts at fixing:

1. The Stalling problem.

2. The heat shield rattle.

3. The parking brake scrape.

However...............apart from these annoying litte problems...............ITS STILL GOES LIKE A SCALDED CAT AND YA GOTTA LOVE THAT.......... :censored:

Im with ya on the heat shield rattle and handbrake scrape. Im sick of getting them fixed. Sorry, not fixed.......................patched up.

OK.

Here's the first report.

1. Heat shield rattle?....Fixed, warranty

2. Park brake rub/scrape....Fixed, warranty

3. Stalling. Nothing fixed. Met with shrugged shoulders and blank looks when I mentioned the upgrades. Might have to visit a more switched-on dealer to get that one fixed. :(

4. Brake shudder....Well, surprise. New discs fitted (old ones had out of spec runout. Warranty. Also fitted my QFM pads at no charge, but get this, the mech who did the job mistakenly entered the code for supply brake pad kit so this was on my original invoice.

Cost....$184........WTF?? :ta: After reminding the friendly service adviser that I had supplied the pads, all was fixed. The main point being that I paid only $40 for the pads.........

At this point the brakes feel very good. Will try to get out on the road and give them a good bedding in today.

One other thing. I had been topping up the coolant on the odd time but with no real sign of a leak. Did not mention this to the service guy but the Mech found a fault anyway which resulted in a new radiator.........Good.

More on the brakes as time goes on. :ermm:

:spacecraft: well Hi all first let me introduce my self.

My Name is Wayne, and I live in Melb, I have just brought a Blueprint XR6 sedan in Nov 03 which now has 8000 ks' on the clock already knew about the brake shudder probs so I took the car straight to Herrods in Melb to have the big brakes fitted and since then I have had nothing but brake shudder it is now on it's 2nd set of rotors just changed a couple of weeka ago and for the first week it was bloody fantastic.

I thought aaahhhh at last it is fixed but guess what it's back again and now it's whineing really bad as well when I turn left, the shudder is really bad you can feel it throught the wheel, through the drivers seat it's driving me mad.

I love the car to bits but at the moment hate driving it any where where I have to do a lot of braking.

My driving is about 60/40 in favor of local driving at 60 to 80 k's.

The car is going back to Herrods again next week for them to have another look and we'll see what they can do this time.

I have no problesm with thier work they have done a great job but the brake shudder is just so stressful.

I have had a look at thr rotors and they have some really dark almost black heat marks on them and then in some areas the rotor loks like the pad has'nt touched it.

At very slow speed I also get a pulsing feeling right through the whole car as well.

The shudder happens at all speeds, it was suggested that I just needed to take the car out and give it to it and nail the brakes 1/2 a dozen time to bed them in, and I have tried this but this has not worked I've had it well over the ton and still no change.

I have read what other people have said but I have already had the big brakes done and still I have the problem would love and really apreciate some feed back of any type.

Regards

Wayne

:3gears: Vik351 you must have misunderstood my post yes I did know about the brake problem with the standard and also the premium brakes out of Ford that's why I went straight for the Herrod brakes and I Still have the problem.

Turbo4lt I'll be sure to keep you and the rest of the group up to speed on how things go.

Thanks for the feed back vik351 and Turbo4lt.

I'm BluePrint-XR6 not BluePrintXR6 I wanted to use BluePrintXR6 here because that's what I am on fordfourms.com but as it would'nt let me use that name here so I choose BluePrint-XR6.

Hope that clears up the confusion
