no they wont fix the problem you have,

Try disconecting the battery for 15min, see if that fixes it.

I mean I could be one of many potential problems.

How many km's has it done?

thanks mate, ill try that tomorrow <_<

im also keen to change the spark plugs and gap them correctly....something to keep me busy on the weekend.

yes I agree, if all elese fails, take it to a ford dealer. That burning smell you described doesnt sound too good either.

Spark plug gaps will only help after you've had a custom edit/tune.

The rough engine symtoms could also be beacuse of the O2 sensor is dead. there know to wear out quick/fail. On XR8's they fail often.

"What's the story morning glory"

Wouldn't hurt to try cleaning out the Throttle Body with some Nulon TB cleaner, could be it's getting stuck. 20K's isn't a lot though.

Might be a silly question, but have you checked your oil? When was the last time it was changed?

On a side note, can you tell me what rims you have pictured in your avatar? My b-inlaw is looking for something like that for his Ego BF XR6.

I'll definately clean the throttle body on the w/end - ive got a k&n filter and I read that the oil from that can clog the TB....the oil seems fine, it was changed at the 15k service back in late nov

the rims in my avartar are the axis hiro...tempe sell them.
