If your car is missing ir could be time to change the spark plugs and leads.Cheers Zac←As geohatrick said. These cars are tuned rich from the factory and can be edited to run leaner with no drivability problems.I have a Supercharged VT that I can get 650 km per tank suburban driving. With a BA Fairmont I can only manage just over 400km with same route.Vt runs 16:1 air fuel ratio on cruise (air flow meter)Fairmont wont go under 14:1 on cruise.(MAP)Its all in the tuneI sometimes wonder whether MAP cars are tuned richer for a reason. I am getting around the 13L/100 around town and when on the highway getting 8.3L/100. Love the F6 for ecconomy, it's much better than the T I had previously, though it might be down to the ZF box, so the new BF-T's might be pretty good too.Rob.←I think your right there because my brother gets pretty good economy out of his 6 speed auto xr6 t as well. So 500km is about right from a tank. Freeway driving is closer to 700km. This is on a stock tune. That'll improve with a good tune.←Damn that is good. Hope mine is up there ←Yep, I am seeing the same figures. I am getting around the 13L/100 around town and when on the highway getting 8.3L/100. Space Ace Member 446 Member For: 19y 11m 27d Location: Melbourne, Victoria Posted 27/02/07 03:22 AM Share Posted 27/02/07 03:22 AM I used to get around 14-14.5l/100km and now its hovering around 15-16l/100km which is about 350-390km's per tank. I've checked all over the car with no possible signs of what might be causing this increase. Maybe I'll try not to put my foot through the firewall all the time... byi Donating Members 159 Member For: 19y 4m 25d Posted 27/02/07 10:18 AM Share Posted 27/02/07 10:18 AM I had a similar problem a few months back. I was only averaging 19L/100KM which equated to approximately 330km. I took the vehicle to Ford for a full computer diagnostic, what they discovered was a hose to the intercooler was lose resulting in the engine taking in more air then it needed. Im now averaging 400km in city driving, best $50 I have spent in a long time Perhaps a trip back to Ford is what is needed.Cheers,

Also pays to let the car warm up a little, I wait about a minute or until the fuel usage is down to 4.0l/hr. If you give it to them when they're cold they absolutely drink it (to warm up the cat I believe). The harder you drive it the more fuel it uses obviously.
