Same Farkin thing happened to me except a couple of weeks after moving into a new house, nice area etc, but had to park the T outside for couple of weeks till we emptied the garage, well about 4 feckin AM in the morning one night BEEEP BEEEP BEEEP.

Tried all the buttons on the remote and same thing the panic button would change / stop it for a bit then BEEEP BEEEP BEEP even starting the car still farkin gooin off.

At 4am new neighbourhood, not nice, anyways it stopped for a few minutes but I thought I best take it for a drive out toward the freeway incase it went off again and it did 1/2 way there BEEP BEEP BEEP feck got a few fark U's whilst driving down the road BEEP BEEEP BEEP 4am stopped, pulled the horn wire and the fuse, have since put them back but still no horn. Nothin.

Next time she's in for service will let you know what they find.

Any update on this guys ? Mine starting doing this EXACT same thing this arvo out of the blue. It first did it about 2 hours ago and I raced down to the garage thinking it was the alarm, but quickly remembered I don't have one!

Pressing the remote stopped it, unless it was a coincidence. I got in and started the car then turned it off and it was quiet until just a few minutes ago when it started up again. It's since gone off 3 times in the last 15 minutes but is now quiet.

I'll yank the fuse if it does it again but I'd be keen to hear if anyone else has a solution.

I doubt its the remote as each time it's done it the car has been out of remote range.

Hi all

BA XR6 Turbo:

Anyone got any info on why & how to fix horn & indicators operating of their own free will when car is turned off. Did it a few months ago sitting in the driveway: went away.

Started up again last thursday, parked in a car park all locked up, remote no where near it. Returned to car to find indicators flashing BEEp, BEEP etc.

Again, Saturday night Car locked stopped itself after about 20 secs.

Last night 3 times till I pulled the fuse. 1st time stopped itself, started again in 1 min opened door stopped, then did it again had to put key in ignition to stop it.

Please help!!!

believe this or not,I know on another brand of car with a similar steering wheel setup that this was happening too.it turned out to be heat causing a tiny metalic barcode or similar sticker underneath the drivers air bag to curl up and intermittanly earth out which caused intermittant horn operation and on occasion horn staying on constantly...if anything keep it in mind.this was sent in a tech bulliten to our work.on the otherhand if your indicators flash as well it may well be something else.

Thanks Simmo, It turned out to be one of the remotes. The buttons were a bid dodgy and you had to press them quite hard to make them work. Took to Ford and they disconnected the remotes from the car and I used the key for a week all OK. So replaced the remotes and all has been good!

Same thing happened to me today after giving the XR6 a wash... Went inside and heard some honking and thought it was an idiot neighbour playing up - until I realised it was my car. Pressed all buttons on the remote but the horn kept honking randomly. Ended up tearing out the fuse and relay, and pulling the power on the entire car. It reset itself, I plugged the relay and fuse back in but the horn kept going for it. Taking it in for a pre-warranty check in a couple of days so hopefully they will find something!

After taking my car in the horn relay read an open circuit fault, but since then the horn hasn't gone haywire. Pretty sure I sprayed water where I shouldn't have when I was giving it a wash - perhaps into the horn or something, to cause a short. Cheap fix at least...
