It's taken a long time and two dealerships to convince them but now it's been done However, driving home I seem to have a vibration through the steering. Not real bad but it's there. I don't think it's my imagination.Any clues would be appreciated!! Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/32718-new-diff/ Share on other sites

The foreman would check it out that afternoon. That's reasonable service I thought. I turn up, wait 15 minutes and then was told they would have to balance the tailshaft without even looking at it so come back another day. I couldn't understand why I had to make the trip back when they weren't even going to look at the car I'm booked back in next week to have the car looked at again. Hopefully they'll fix it. Oh well, it's taken about 6 trips, 2 dealers, charged before to NOT find the problem, almost 2 years waiting so what's another week, right? Gawd!!! They checked with Ford and it turns out the new diff is not within spec. I was told that new diffs are not actually all new. They are old ones that are reconditioned. Could be a couple of days, could be a few weeks to get another "new" one. Can't fault the dealer this time.Meanwhile, it's the "Good Vibrations" thing when I'm driving ! Every one up to now has lasted about 15,000km before changing because of serious whine between 80 and 100km/h.This one's done 12,000km and I think I can just detect a small whine at the same speeds. Nowhere near as bad as the other three. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it won't get any worse because I'm out of warranty now. It's fine up to about 60km/h and then you start to feel the vibes.siverchris, even if you are out of warranty, surely because the problem was during the warranty period they will keep replacing the diff if it goes out again. I'm out of warranty soon too and the dealer said a while ago if faults are identified during the warranty time they will be fixed even if you then go out of warranty later Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/32718-new-diff/#findComment-505220 Share on other sites

See what happens this time.It was interesting that someone at the dealer agreed that BA's have had problems with diffs. Is it the same with BF's??
