Hi all,

Since looking into a Walbro pump I have found a GSS294 through petroject who distribute them Aust wide, price was $176. The harder part was finding the submersible fuel line......I ended up finding some for ??? (my price through my mate's auto store). Anyways when I receive I will see if it lasts, since it's submersible I assume it should.

Seems some people are having trouble finding submersible fuel line at a decent price so thought that if mine works OK I could organise to distribute some to interested people. Lengths come in half metre so one length should easily do three cars.

Anyone interested let me know...price should be approx $30 for the half metre.

As far as I could ever find out when researching this Gates is the only company that manufacture true submersible fuel hose.

Alot of shops claim the fuel line thy sell is submersible but it's not.

I would want to know brand and part number of this stuff before even considering buying it.

the hose should have a SAE 30R10 rating printed on the side of the hose if it is suitable to be submersed in fuel. Normal fuel hose will have R7 on the side of it which meens it is not suiable to be submersed. If the hose has SAE 30R10 on it then get it but if not dont use it.

:spoton: Adam put me onto the gates brand as I was using some other cheap version on the fuel pump.. what you dont want is driving then all of a sudden no power do to the submersible fuel line splitting and then getting your car towed back home.. :spoton:

I got mine from a place in Oakleigh Victoria.

Cost me 29 bucks for 12 inches and it is a gates hose. I was using what I thought was submersible hose, and was driving one night and gave it WOT and FMD I sh*t my pants, the loudest backfire I have ever heard. I had a PDS hooked up, and on factory tune it leaned out to 15 afr's

It was then confirmed that either the fuel pump had gone (brand new walbro) or the hose was torn. Ripped out the pump, and there it was, when driving normally it was fine, as soon as anything more than 1/2 throttle was applied, BANG I'd get the lean backfire. It's the fuel ignighting in the manifold due to the heat and less cooling effect of f*ck all fuel. Not a good thing.

I'll check out the hose and the standard printed on it, it's not costing me much anyway and I can rteturn it if it doesn't look any good.
