Hi guys,

Just thought I'd express my joy at getting my BA XR6 T back after being without it for 9 days while it got 2 dents in the bonnet repaired (courtesy of a broom flying out of a trailer in front of me at 110km/h) under insurance.

I also got them to replace the LH side 'skirt', badly scraped on a curb like protusion a few months ago at work (grrr), sand back and repaint of the front spoiler where the normal scrapes from too high angled driveways and the obligatory stone chips, reaffix the rear bumper assembly and touch up some marks from a low speed rear ender.

I've had a loan of a friends 2003 MX5 for the week and, by golly, the difference was amazing for the first 30 seconds. It felt like I was driving a tank! But, after quickly getting used to the heavy clutch and the harder steering, I'm back in love again!

Great to have my premium sound back, the quiet interior and the smooth ride. All is forgiven (clunky manual transmission, squealing brakes, rubbing hand brake) for a while, anyway

Simon....

Thanks guys, went up to Mindarie to a friends for dinner tonight (a 45 minute run on the freeway in peak hour and a nice 30 min run back at 2200.

Very, very happy to be back in the beast again. I must say, about the only things I miss in the MX-5 is the turning circle and the ease of parking.

Isn't it funny how you love the small things like the fact that the windows go up and down in the XR with the ignition off? And the 'auto-down' on the drivers window? :)

Cheers,

Simon....

I found a temp fix of the handbrake sch sch noise.. get up to about 30kph and give it a quick yank! makes a rude clunk but it gets rid of the noise.. seems to work as good as it did before (not very well) but the noise is gone!!

glad all the dings are fixed mate :roflmbo:

Hate to admit, but that was the best method in the BA. There's no concern about ruining the effectiveness of it though as it never works anyway!

I used to do it at about 5km/h in the carpark, used to fix it for a while too after the almighty clunk. I really, really cannot understand how such a basic problem can't be fixed :(
