Gday,

I have a 2003 BA XR6T Ute, and I have read recently that some vehicles have traction control, its a 4 speed auto, and I cannot spin the wheels unless its wet or I throw it out around a corner.

When I first got it I could spin the wheels quite easily without locking the wheel to the right or left, it would just spin on the spot. It has been back to ford and I believe the computer has been reset once.

I have 235/45/17 dunlops on the car all round, and my first thought was it was just because I have good tyres, but after doing some reading im leaning towards I have traction control on the car.

Theres no button anywhere on the dash, ive read the manual back to front and cant find anything, is this a computer based setting? can I pull a fuse out to disable it? or is it just the tyres?

hate to break it to you but none of the BA utes have traction control :nono:

If you want to fix your cars ability to brake traction then I suggest you contact a tuner that can tune capa edits and go from there :spoton:

Traction control can be fitted to ba utes.

Mine has been fitted by MRC dyno in Castle Hill in Sydney.

With a few extra factory parts from ford this can be done.

Your situation doesn't at all sound like traction control

You might want to get the car onto a dyno to make sure it's making power. Alternativly, hook up a boost gauge and make sure it's got boost.

Also, disconnect the battery for 10 mins.

You have no traction control, and the Dunlops are absolute rubbish as far as traction in any weather goes.

You might have loose manifold bolts, or a sticky boost solenoid??
