yeh I know, 316rwkw isnt good, but I dont understand how u could drive yours with 164rwkw, does that do burnouts in gear? like if your cruzing in 2nd and punch it does the arse end come out in the dry? and yeh I have run it, 5spd manual, std clutch, std tyres, with 270rwkw, ran 12.85@ 108mph. who said u cant get times with manual? every other auto with similar power run the same times. lol! and they put slicks! but you all thought I just look at dyno figures.

12.8 with a manual is very good, but do you really think you'll see 10s with another 40rwkw on top of that?

I know guys with over 400 rwkw that find it hard to pull 10s in manuals.

Don't get me wrong Im not for a second saying your full of it or anything as stupid as that just that you seem to have your work cut out for you with a manual 5 speed 316rwkw and looking for 10s.

Good luck by the way hope you get a low 10.

Hows that stock clutch holding up for you with 316rwkw? It should have gone a long time ago.

Well it was 176rwkw, but the stall converter robs some of that power but allows for better power delivery and it does spin the wheels in 2nd gear when I punch it, probably not as good as yours but. You would be surprised if you rode in my car though, no turbo lag and instant delivery. Dyno figures mean squat really, it is 1/4 times that tell it as it is.

Well glad to see you have run it, but you can't be expecting a 3 second reduction in your ET with a 46rwkw increase though. Manuals are harder to drag and be consistant, but if done properly should be faster than a standard auto (without hi-stall) because you can stall it higher and less is lost in the drivetrain. BTW. What's your 60ft?

^^ he has actually just converted it to a T56 with a typhoon clutch...

I know people with 400rears stuggling to get into the 11's let alone 10's with a manual...

Well that should help, having that power available is one thing, using it effectively at the rear wheels is another. 4.11's, slicks and practice should help.

for starters guys my best mate FPVPSI told me to jump on the n/a ba part of the forum and give u guys abit of a sh*t stir, manual is crap 4 quarter mile drags, the gear changes are the easy part, getting off the line is the trick, my 60ft time when I ran it last was 1.91, but dont 4get it was with 270rwkw and std everything (t5, clutch an tyres), ive yet to run it now with the new mods and upgraded box an clutch, coz im waiting for slicks and suspension mods. dont think my sig is true, I wrote it just so people assume im a sick c*nt, I dont think nizpro is that dumb to think that with 316 rwkw im gona run 180mph, and whoever thinks that I think my car is capabale of that needs help!

Well, all I can say is your sig worked well!!!! :nono:

Good luck on your next time out.

Your 60 ft was the same as mine BTW, first run was 1.917, I'll improve on that.

How I see it is Patches aint doing so well only being about a second or so quicker than Doogstar, considering Doogs doesnt have a snail hanging off his motor.... and 10's, doubt it bud... By the way this is th N/A section, not somewhere for turbo owners to come and dribble $hit !

I see no reason why a manual can't be as quick as an auto. The problem is that the manuals are to short geared.

I'm seriously considering getting a manual typhoon (to be different, everyone's got the zf, and because they're more fun to drive) which I'd get tuned to 400rwkw (the norm for these things). This power, a rip shifter and a 3.23 (yes, taller than stock) diff gears should be able to match the zf's record circa 2.0 60ft and 11.1 400m remembering that a 330rwkw f6 ute ran 11.7 in wa. The manuals are already able to run 1.6 60ft with the stock clutch.

I think the well argued point that auto's are quicker than manuals is more myth than physics. A good driver will be able to match an auto, as the auto's shift speed is limited to provide comfort and smooth shifts where the manual is literally limited by the driver. And besides, there are very quick manual supra's and skyline's around (which are making a pretty good case for my cash actually, anyway)
