Kieran,

I'm no manual transmission expert, but if you are not in too much of a hurry, we could probably work something out.

We have the cruise next weekend, following wekend I'm off to the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, so first time I have available is March 10-11 or 17-18 after that I'm off to Malaga in Spain for the next 2 weekends, so time is at a premium right now :spoton:

If we can convince Luke to participate, as he has after all fitted a 6 speed to his car, then maybe we can make this happen.

I kept a low profile, as I had hoped others were able to help you :tease:

I can work in around Allan's schedule to get the box in. It shouldn't be more than a 6 hour job from start to cracking a cold one.... :spoton:

thanks heaps guys :spoton:

either of those dates is fine with me, so its really up to you guys, whichever is better..

so just let me know a time, place, and what you like to drink and we can get it all sorted!

luke, did you use the ba xr8 yolk that muzza mentioned above? because I'll get straight onto that, and hopefully be able to source a mal wood short throw shifter also to knock everything over in one hit.

much appreciated guys!!

also Robin lists this step in his report:

7. Slot in the XR8 gearbox yoke, and fit the MkII cross member (you’ll need a few M6 nuts as it didn’t seem to come with them ?).

whats an m6 nut?

there was no bolts with the crossmember that I got, so wont the t5 crossmember bolts be useable?

also after looking at the clutch and flywheel I can see that some of the bolts to connect the clutch and flywheel arent there (have 2 of 6??)

should I just go to bunnings or should I contact ford because they may be special high tensile or something?

cheers

Definitely do not go to Bunnings :k24t:

Get the right bolt from Ford.

I can't see why the t5 crossmember bolts would not fit, otherwise I have some from an auto.

Not sure what he menas by M6 nuts either, as this usually refers to a nut with a 6 mm thread :spoton:
