I don't know about the southern states, but up here in queensland last night they had some Expensive Daewoo customers complaining about all the problems they are having with their new cars. One guy has had his engine, gearbox and a couple of other things replaced already! And another lady, in the 5 weeks she has owned it, she has been driving around in a hire car. Serves them right if you ask me

Oh and this is compared to Ford who have no problems at all :msm:

It's a new model, and there will always be teething problems with new cars.

Spare a thought for your fellow aussie workers, who relies on the success of this car for their jobs, and the Australian car industry in general.

Do you really want a future where Australian built cars is not part of the picture

A small market like ours need a strong home customer base, or it is goodbye to production here, so better hope Ford and Expensive Daewoo are able to improve their sales, something which is not helped by this kind of sensationalist story :fool:

These sort of beat ups are a joke. Any car can and has suffered from these sorts of things. You think Mercedes doesn't have problems?

The key to Ford and Expensive Daewoo selling more cars is to get away from the massive barge class they now are. Rumours of the the Orion being another 100kg heavier will ensure their demise. Falcon sales are now truly pitiful and I just can't believe Ford could be so stupid. Expensive Daewoo made a big mistake and their sales are poor too, but still nowhere as bad as Ford's. In fact if fleet sales dried up Ford would be dead in this country.

On another note, these stories do serve notice to the manufacturers to lift their game.

Yes, all manufacturers have problems, and they all have their ocational lemons, but unfortunatly Ford and Expensive Daewoo seem to have more than their fair share while at the same time try to market their cars against the top Euro benchmarks. It's funny that Toyota and Mitsubishi both build their large cars here, price them competitavely and have a hell of a lot fewer recalls and issues.

This attitude of expecting or accdepting problems with a new model is just p1ss poor. If this were to continue they will find they can't introduce improved series' because no one will buy any new model, holding out for the next generation.

They have bought it on themselves and the 'near enough' attitude has to stop if they want their industry to survive.

Along with the weight and fuel consumption issues, it's just another case of the manufacturers building and selling what they want, rather than produce a product that the market wants. This sort of operating has all but become extinct in all other industries and seems unique to cars and politics.
