They are 2 very different cars and I think the both have their market. I have to say that the XR6 Turbo would be quicker than the XR8 but then again there is nothing like the sounds of a BOSS V8 at full throttle. Just weigh up exactly what you want out of the car and then make your desicion. Perhaps drive them back to back and see what you think.Either way, I'm sure you will be very happy. Both great cars

The V8 makes the XR8 very nose heavy, the handling is nowhere near as neutral as the XR6T. The XR8 feels like a nose heavy bus in comparison. Not surprising when you look at the weight figures for the engine compared to the T....and its all at the very front of the car. You can feel it easily in cornering. In the XR8 my second statement (after saying I love the noise!) was "is that it?".I expected the engine to have good low down torque when in fact you have to rev it a sh*tload to get any decent power.Jumped back in my T and it was accelerating harder at 2000 rpm than the XR8 at full noise....Seriously, the XR8 is a fantastic car...until you jump in an XR6T and realise what you are missing out on. I think that sums it up pretty clearly. Take an XR8 for a test spin. Then an XR6T. I reckon you will agree. I've been thinking of an XR8 or GT for my next car, and I'd turbo or supercharge it for sure. just curious how it would go with around 5000-10k spent on it? Both great cars ←that's a great balanced answer.I have had a Turbo, GT, and now a GTP.When I sold the GT I drove a Typhoon and it was a quick car off the mark but I stayed with a V8 as it went well, and hadnt let me down. For me there is nothing in it, Im not after the fastest car in town but the GT with a few mods would be a very quick car.Yes you do have to rev it to get it really moving but that's what I enjoy the most about driving it.As pointed out above weigh it up and see what you really do want in a car.Its a tough choice alright and the Turbo is a great car but the XR8 is to but we will all have our favourites. I thought the rev-ing comment is true as well.. it doesnt make much under 4k... whereas the T makes it from 2 + modding is cheaper you will be happy either way! But at the end of the day I couldn't come at paying more for a car that was slightly slower and had slightly worse handling. Buying second had eliminates the price problem so I'd buy which ever one you can find in the best condition for the best price. I don't think you would be disappointed which ever way you go. Still an awesome car but them FPV's are just that little bit more special.
