Just wondering the size of the pipe that connects to the turbo from the induction side???

Im thinking of hanging a pod filter off the turbo for some added noise.... I have a pod lying around and thought I might give it a go... If I like it I might eventually put it in the bumper....

The turbos compressor housing has a 3in inlet... but a pod just sitting in the engine bay will make the car perform worse, ie sucks in heaps of really hot air... Lag city!

A 3inch flexi hose will go under the headlight and into the bumper, try that, it works VERY well and makes all the noise you will ever need

Ok a few questions here...

Do I need to cut anything to get the hose under the headlight round the battery and into the bumper (not in that particular order) or do I just fiddle around with it?

Do I secure the pod to anything?

RAP1D in your opinion or anyone else with the same setup.. does it work better than the 2nd CAI and standard airbox setup... which I have ATM?

Rap1d, you have really good examples on youtube of the spooling for the turbos esp in your car.. sounds great and I didnt know it could sound so loud throughout all the gears.

is urs manual or auto?

Its a manual... its just like any turbo car with a decent sized turbo, once you free up all the intake restrictions it can be very loud. I have the stock bov plumbed into the intake to to silence it a bit as its VERY loud with no bov. Sounds great but attracts alot of attention.

nup, no cutting needed.

I used a 3 inch flexy hose from the local auto shop. It's a tight fit but goes under the battery ok. I used a simple bracket to hold the pod in place.

As for being better than the airbox... yes and no. The airbox flows well to start with and plenty of cars have big power using it.

The main reson I did this is due to the fact that I wanted to remove all the factory IC piping and replace it with larger diameter/ better flowing pipe.

Another reeason was I didnt want long IC pipes running over the motor... this can cause heat soak in general traffic driving which causes lag on hot days.

The pod in the bumper get heaps of cold air as its outside the engine bay, yet still protected from road crap/dirt dust ect.
