I was looking at upgrading my clutch. I have 250rwks at the moment but hoping to end up with about 280 - 300. I know the Mal Wood option 3 is a good choice but it is also a very expensive one.

CAPA offer a Heavy Duty Cushioned Button Clutch with Aluminium Flywheel for $1260. I was wondering whether anyone has one, if they could give some feedback it would be appreciated.

If anyone has some other suggestions that would also be appreciated.

Thanks

Michael

T5 or T56?

I've got an extreme HD organic clutch, holds 312kw but I think its starting to slip just a little bit. Cost me about $800 fitted. Nice clutch with no shudder but it has heavier peddle feel.

Mal Woods clutches are the way to go if you can afford it, I'd just save a little more if I was you. I think the option 3 is only about $1300 anyway.

sorry I forgot to mention I have a T56. I thought the Mal Wood option3 was 1500 just for the clutch. Can you use the original fly wheel with the option 3? Forgive me but I don't know too much about clutches. I get lost with all the different types!

What is a csc?

I just CAN'T believe that anyone would suggest a cushioned button clutch plate on an alloy flywheel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though the Alloy flywheel has got a steel running surface the heat generated can cause distortion between the two materials. I could supply the same thing for around $1000 but I just won't sell one because of the issues that could develop from that combination. Mal

Our option 3 kit includes, A Billet Steel High Quality Flywheel, A New 11'' clutch kit which uses a 2900lb pressure plate and an insulated sprung organic clutch plate, New ARP pressure plate bolts and a New Alloy CSC. The cost is $1530 and this design is unique to MWA and was designed and tested by MWA and is the only clutch that will hold 400fwkw with absolute ease and is as smooth as silk to drive. Mal Wood

I agree fully save up and get the mal wood 3.

if u mod more in the future you will save money in the long run :spoton:

the alloy csc is a must have im sure mal will agree

the csc is the hydrolic actuator that actuates the clutch.
