Be careful not to over tighten the fittings as the blocks have been known to crack if the fitting is over tightened. 2 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/32461-turbo-oil-supply-screen-cleaning/page/35/#findComment-1395339 Share on other sites

How many people have done this and had problems? I have an fg ad my concern is the filter becoming brittle being that's it plastic as has been going through hot and cold cycles for the past 5 years. Being that my car runs full synthetic oil I can't see there being much sludge and metal should only be an issue on initial 1500kms. So correct me if I'm wrong but why is it even there? Because ford recommended oil is a mineral oil? Some people don't do anything, some remove, and some change to an earls filter. Only times I've heard of turbo's going is by leaving it as is so you're going to get different opinions on what's best so hard to make your own judgement 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/32461-turbo-oil-supply-screen-cleaning/page/35/#findComment-1430311 Share on other sites

Removed my air box. , 24mm sidchrome ring to crack both bolts and a tiny sunglass flat head to remove the screen. Back in and running with no leaks. Z2TT Member 714 Member For: 12y 10m 16d Posted 16/11/13 09:28 AM Share Posted 16/11/13 09:28 AM I was wondering though would removing it cause issues or decrease life of turbo in long run as it was mentioned earlier in this thread that the oil pressure/flow going to the turbo might be too strong?Does the factory filter provide enough flow even when putting a big aftermarket turbo on?
