an easier way could be to hold your foot flat on the throttle, all the way to the floor and crank the motor over.

it will not start with your foot flat on the gas.

you do already know that if you hold your foot to the floor on acc pedal, it wont actually fire, just roll over, to prime oil. When I bought my t about 4 months back, 60000km service found screen blocked and pushed its way thru the pipe into the turbo. lucky I got it in time before major damage. this was due to frauds lack of oil changes (only every 15000km) should be every 5000km. from what I now know, just do regular oil changes and it's not a problem. This is following Turbo tech's warranty advice, had to replace entire pipe & kit turbo.

Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend someone in WA to fit a new filter, for a reasonable price of course,

Cheers

buy the screen from fraud, but do NOT let them fit it, then take it to turbo tech in belmont.

cheers.

I think i may be getting good at this. I managed to replace the filter on my ute in 45mins today. I have two "special" 24mm spanners that are perfect for the task. Its actually very easy to access the fitting from the top if you have a Nizzer or similar plenum fitted.

I paid $68 from ford for the fitting, interestingly the same part from Cov's was only $8 cheapers than genuine from the dealer. Next time it's due though i will be fitting the external earls filter i have.

I got myself one of those earl's inline filters and put it on the ute when we put the new turbo on it. Problem is though, I cant figure out how the old oil screen filter is no longer used?

earl's braided hose has a ring on the end, the same as the stocker which the screen goes through. isnt those inline filters meant to replace the oil screen??

just remove the factory screen completely, it's too much to ask for the oil to pass thru 2 filters.

How do you figure?

The screen that is in the line to the turbo is after the oil filter.

So it will only be filtering, if anything, particles that are picked up in the oil galleries, or anything that is 'shaved' off in normal operation.

Plus, if you're still under warranty and you have an engine failure and it's discovered there isn't a filter in the fitting??

Bye bye warranty, hello expensive replacement.
