Daniel Member 299 Member For: 21y 4m 22d Gender: Male Posted 04/02/10 11:53 AM Share Posted 04/02/10 11:53 AM Well, ask Ford nicely and they might give it to you. There were many 'agreements' and strong 'recommendations' that Ford would of had to see to before Garrett would supply and honor warranties for these products.Ford do not decide on everything that is needed to keep the turbo going on these cars... ok, think of it as if you were building turbos and Ford asked you if they could put them on a series of their large engined high performance family sized cars. Chances are (we would hope lol) you would know what is needed to keep your turbo in good working order and what would kill them or degrade their expected performance/life.I would cheekily joke that knowing Ford, it would have never of had a filter if the first place. Or they might have even had a worse way to lubricate/cool them!

In this case, there would be no difference in fitting a one piece line from the engine to the turbo. If the std engine filter can filter the oil for bearings, vct phasers and the like, then why do some think it's not good enough for the turbo? Just have a few questions when removing the screen and piping do I have to drain the oil from the car if so how many liters does it take and what should I put back in it, and also when I put it all back together and put the oil line back onto the car befor I connect it to the turbo do I have to purge the line with oil befor start up if so how do I do it thanks to everyone for your help sorry if I asked questions that have already been answered hope my car lasts a bit longer now!!! Smoke them tyres Member 557 Member For: 16y 11m 6d Gender: Male Location: Brisbane Posted 02/03/10 11:30 AM Share Posted 02/03/10 11:30 AM Only a few ml will run out when you pull the fitting apart....no need for any refill. No need to purge the line as the oil pump will rocket enough oil into the pipe on engine start up.As far as oil, they take 6 litres for an oil change. Penrite, Castrol, Nulon would be good oils to use just to mention a few. Genuine Ford oil filter good value and quality.
