Throw it in the bin.

But seriously, its 70 microns ( I have measured). If its contaminated solvent and air pressure wont clean it. And you can only tell under the microscope if its clean.

If you feel you MUST have one , just install a new one every time you think you need to CLEAN it.

According to Garrett maximum oil pressure to the turbocharger is 40 to 45 PSI, the built in restrictor is not there to achieve this. So if you go by what they recommend you would have to put a restrictor in the line because your oil pressure is going to be way more than 45 PSI.

Has anyone ever measured the oil supply pressure with the factory screen in place?

Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't the oil supply fitting on the turbo have the restriction I only allow 40-45 psi???

These turbos are not made specific for xr6 so considering that every engine and filtration system is different I would assume that Garrett would just restrict their turbo to suit their own specifications.. If this the case measuring line pressure will really tell you nothing..

How can it restrict to a known pressure if it doesn't know what the supply pressure is ? According to Garrett you need 40-45 before the turbocharger, clearly people are running much higher pressure with no obvious issues.
