Once loose, undo the oil sender end and move the line (banjo) out the way a bit to get access. That done, use the socket again and remove the remaining piece of the assembly from the engine. Proceed to remove the circlip and factory filter. Clean up and reassemble is reverse order using a little bit of blue locktite (medium hold) or similar on the internal threads and also where the fitting screws into the block. It's a tapered thread so dont overtighten - the locktite will seal it. Wipe off the excess (if any) and reattach the oil sender electrics - all done. Does it just pull off? At least I got both me, todd and the car home with in a reasonable amount of time and in good condition. Really disappointed in the failure of such a new car. Filter was full of metal.
