Turbo Oil Supply Screen Cleaning

Hey mate, I'd stick with either an ETM line (which I have) or a Rapid one. Only real difference between the two is ETM starts of -6 then down to -4 after the filter and has Speedflow fittings, whereas the Rapid is -4 all the way with Earl fittings. Both a great quality product and I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Dont worry about changing the OEM banjo bolt, as all your doing is taking the standard filter out of it. The washers are crush washers and should come with you kit when you get it, just pop one either side of the banjo fitting when you tighten it all up. Oh and yeh it will fit a BA fine mate.

Mine was $300 to my door with the gauge port, 1300 MANIFOLDS is the number. Don't worry about the bolt man seriously, save yaself $70, your gonna have to pull the filter out of it too, so why bother..

I had my BFII in for service (120k) the other day and got the mechanic to remove the oil feel line filter/mesh (he'd never heard of anything like it in other cars and only works on turbo/modded cars)

Luckily it wasn't blocked up, but safest to remove anyways.

How long does this normally take to do? His charged 2.5hrs labour to do this! Seems an aweful long time, I would have expected less time than this if I was doing it at home without a hoist!

Did he remove the oil filter to do it?

That frees up a lot of room.

Figured maybe an hour job on a hoist. I was going to do it myself but figure, meh might take me two hours off the hoist (ie air box out etc) but was in for service so figured, why not, (oil & filter) so the oil filter would have been off also! arrrrrrrrg

2.5hrs and $220 ($88/hr) WTF !

Hi Guys,

I just pulled my turbo oil filter out and I'm so glad I did.

My BA has done 160k, oil changed at 8k max

The filter was black and I could barely blow through it, I reckon another 20k and it would have been bye bye turbo.

Don't put it off guys it really is a time bomb.
