Im toying with the idea of changing the diff ratio in my ute from 3.4 to 4.11 to make the big purple money pit get up and go a bit better.

Can any of the perth guys recommend a decent diff repair joint in perth?

I got the 3.7

Was told that is would not make that much difference but I think its very noticable.

First drive after fitting 3rd felt more like 2nd use to be and 6th gear is now useful.

Im thinking about going to 4.11's if my calcs are correct its a 16% drop(im running 3.47 at the mo) which means at 60 in fourth i'l be pulling 1624rpm. My ute only pulls 1400rpm at 60kph so i spend most of my time running around the burbs in 3rd gear.... :welcome2:

Yeah mines a 3.4 because its a mk1 ba that was originally an auto so 1st gear is good for 70kph.... :welcome2:

I dont usually use 5th unless im doin over 120kph on my private driveway. The CP pistons in my car make the rattle noise around 1500/1600 rpm so i try to stay out of the rev range when in sixth... :welcome2:

good luck with the swap!! :welcome2:

I find 6 a bit useless for me now! only use it on freeways.. so for u.. I don't know if you would use it

that's the situation I was in cruising at 120 would only be about 2100rpm :spoton:
