The VE is a lighter car and will most likely beat you if you have similar power.

Where you pull that from. VE SS weighs 1800kg, the Xr6T about 1700kg. The VE SS V is 1812kg, up from 1650kg in the VZ.

that's what I thought :spoton:

Hi

the power readings might be pretty close but you have to keep in mind that they are two very different cars and work differently. I know of a few friends, one with an LS1 the other with an xr6T where the T makes about 250rw and the ls1 about 235 and the LS1 wins hands down every race. just my thoughts, only way to find out is to give him a race.

I find that very hard to beleive. There are plenty of posts on here that would refute this. Also plenty where lower powered Ts out gunned HSVs.

With the Ts putting out so much low down grunt, they can usually shame many more fancied competition off the line.

Which LS1 is it. If a GTS then 235 wouldn't be far over stock, while we know that 250rwkw Ts are threatening the 12s bracket. Also a 250rwkw T should be over the 600nm mark.

As already stated, different dynos on different days, add in driver skills, etc. Too many variables.

The LS1 was a VX SS with exhaust + extractors and EDIT, possibly an air filter. whereas the T only had an edit with possibly air filter (K&N, etc.) the race was also conducted whilst rolling. vx manual, xrT was auto. This is how I saw the race, but others may have performed otherwise.

I own a stock 285kw HSV MALOO Y Series and a stock XR6T, the turbo always beats the HSV when ever I give the wife a drag even when I drive the HSV not by much but still.

Is the stock XR6T a BF or BA & is it a auto or manual ?

The turbo straight 6 has 4 litres of air to push a big turbo -> big edited power. :spoton:

Unless you forcefeed th 8 (big dollars) the 8 will be spending lots of $'s to get anywhere near the same power.

Threatening no. Should be well and truly in the 12's.
