Guest EGOXRT Guests Posted 07/02/07 10:53 PM Share Posted 07/02/07 10:53 PM Thanks guys, I thought it seemed a bit out of this planet. Guess I will have to ring them and see what the deal is, or it might be what they charge everybody??? I know you pay for quality, but that's not the way to get me back for future work, that's for sure....

But a while ago now I had a cam and rocker install in my old VS and it was $75...... go figure, maybe cause I had some work dont there. How much profit do these companies make off power runs surely I cant be $130 or even $150 for a 5 minute job??? Its far from 5 minute work. If you are shootout acredited the car MUST be secured properly as per dyno dynamics guidelines. We also check your speedo calibration at the same time. We also supply laminated charts of the runs.Showing whatever information you want. eg boost AFR, torque curve Also take into consideration the cost of the equipment used to perform the test. They dont cost peanuts. Nor should the consumer be shafted.
Guest EGOXRT Guests Posted 08/02/07 06:45 AM Share Posted 08/02/07 06:45 AM Paul I think your price is quite reasonable. With most workshops charging close to the $100 dollar an hour mark, that would have been ok, but I don't think what I paid was within reason. Like anyone else I don't mind paying good money where it is due, but hey!!! From the research I did, I thought $80-$100 like most charge. The biggest mistake was not asking for a price before hand, you live and learn. It is a very competitive market out there and when it's edit time I know where not to go. Guest EGOXRT Guests Posted 12/02/07 12:32 AM Share Posted 12/02/07 12:32 AM Seems to me some of these tuners are taking advantage of their popularity... They have lost all future business from me that's for sure.
