aniken I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it Donating Members 4,316 Member For: 21y 10m 29d Gender: Male Location: Sydney, south west Posted 08/02/07 10:43 AM Share Posted 08/02/07 10:43 AM I filled up a pool last year, whilst it took a bit of water it probably only cost around $10 extra on the water bill, even a large pool is dirt cheap to fill. I'm with someone filling up a water truck as those guys pay through the nose to fill up a truck normally, it's far cheaper if they take someone elses water...←I agree , the quantity is outrageous. Surely a neighbour would let me know if someone was pulling up in a tanker Update 751 Ltrs gone whilst at work v 5ltrs overnight . I even watched the meter when I got home for 15 mins and it did not move I will await with interest the morning reading, appears at present to be a daytime problem. It will be interesting to see what patterns develop over coming days particularly the weekend.Hopefully will provide an answer or at least a clue←751L, while no one was home? That's 66 litres above the daily consumption of the average household in Sydney. Definitely something going on.Why don't you try turning off the water at the meter tomorrow morning, and see what has happened when you get home from work? Our last quarter was $13.51 and we've never had a quarterly bill bigger than $27. Anyhoo, back on topic. I'd take a day off work but do everything as normal (leave for work etc) and then park the car in a side street. Then make your way back home (perhaps over the other neighbours fence) and wait for the thieving *beep* to do his thing.Cos there's no way known that you have a leak (of that volume) without some sort of evidence (like your house floating away). If you see him doing it, take a photo or video of him doing it and call the police.
