I have seen the new V Power fuel at shell that is 100 ron with 5% ethnol in it, can I use it in a stock ba xr6 turbo or will it damage something.

I have been told by another forum member to be careful when adding occy boosters to etenol fuels, and do not leave the car sitting for more than 2 weeks if you have etonol fuel in the car.

:spoton:  I have been told the same thing.. still not a fan of ethnol. I also dont understand how shell can charge the consumer so much more for it.

No competition for 100 octane fuel at the bowser!

I think the issue with ethanol was when sitting for lengthy periods unused, there was a tendency for the fuel to coagulate, causing fuel filter blockage....

It was also thought at the time to be probably due to a cocktail mix with octane booster also??? Can anyone remember exactly?

I think GEEA will have to enlighten us a little more. But yes, with Nulon occy booster and ethenol, I believe his fuel system clogged up with a green gel like substance. :spoton:

Too right. We the taxpayer subsidise them to add ethanol and the government then lets them charge us more for the fuel. :spoton: It's the ethanol that makes it 100 octane, nothing fancy on their part, the fuel should be cheaper not dearer.
