Hi Everyone,

I am just a few days away from becoming an owner of a 2004 XR6 Turbo Ute.

:tease:

Just wondering if anyone has seen any results from facory XR6T's and XR8's on the dyno. Just wondering how close the factory power claims are to what they are actually putting out.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

Remember the factory 240kw (BA) and 245kw (BF) ratings are measured at the FLYWHEEL not the TYRES.

Thanks Falc

Yeah I realise those numbers are quoted at the flywheel. Just did not think there would be so much loss through the gearbox and diff.

Have you raced many 8's? If so how did you go?

There's approximately 22% loss through the drivetrain, so 195rwkw+22% = 238rwkw - quite close to factory spec.

This is assuming the 195rwkw is the average, it amy be higher, or lower.

If you had 200rwkw, which should be closer to the norm for XR6T, you will be sitting at 200+22% = 244fwkw.

So yes, an approx 40kw loss seems to be acceptable for drivetrain losses.

my car pulled 195.5rwkw stock and I always beat XR8 even some that did alil work to it and still didnt beat mine lol

Mine measured a little high and had the dyno operator pretty excited. 245rwkw BF T Manual. I'm assured his dyno was accurate....but you be the judge.

I was able to flat shift through the gears as well, which is meant to be impossible in a manual T (Unedited) so who knows maybe I had a police tune or something...
