Personally, I don't see the advantage of running a narrower tyre than standard with the 225's? :tease:

I have 245/30-20 on the front - 8.5" wide wheel

275/35-20 on the rears - 9.5" wheel

Wow, your gearing would be way out with that size rear. To maintain rolling diameter on the F6, I had to use a 275/30 19, and you have a 20 with a 35 profile. You would have a much larger rolling diameter, being about 10% out I'd say, You really need a 275/25. You front tyre has the right profile though for a 20, on a 19 you need a 245/35.

It is out don't worry about that - about 5% I believe. It really shows up on dyno pulls - the difference between the 20's and the standard 18's.

Don't worry, it has enough power to make up the gearing difference. :spoton:

I don't doubt the power is an issue, but the speedo error would be high or can you get that fixed with edit. LS1 edit allows you to enter diff ratio and tyre sizes, do Flash tuner allow this?

the tyre shop has fitted 30 series tyres to my rims and I'm worried about rim damage with only having such a small profile.

is this the normal size or do you guys have 35 or 40 series fitted?

mike

I have 255/30ZR20's on mine. They wanted to fit 225/35's, but the tyre was waaay to stretched. Spent the extra $$$ per tyre and am happy now.

Just have to be aware of what you are driving over. :spoton: Little extra caution goes a long way.

Honestly, it doesn't really concern me. I only drive the thing on weekends every now and then anyway and just remember the speedo error. If you used it all the time, yes, I would have been more concerned.

As the rear wheels now appear to be bigger, it does give the car a far more agressive look which I love.

Th dish on my new 19x9.5 rear wheels is huge and they look awesome. I'll post a pic this weekend after I wash the car.

Hey, I run Wanli 225/35ZR20 on the front. There the only tyres I could find that were legal and reasonably priced. I Run Wanli 245/35R20 on the back, tried putting them on the front but found they rub on my springs. The ones on my front cost me $290 a tyre in Perth and they are rated to 650kg. Wanli also make a tyre the same size 225/35R20 which are only rated at 600kg, so be careful which one you buy. The tyre placard says 630kg minimum. You can feel every bump in the road though and there is a bit of road noise, compromise you have to make to run 20s. My rims are Chrome 20" xHP Sabres. :roflmbo:post-10714-1170399166_thumb.jpg

I have nexen tyres 225/35R20 and are rated at 600kg. I rang tech9tyres on wed where I got them from and they reckon they are load rated for a BA. I suspected they were not so I'll be pi$$ed if they are lying as I wanted the wanli's for that reason.
