Just to get an opnion.Nesh←Sell It or better still toss it and spare someone else the headache....Then find A T56 and then your issues will disappear.....I learn't this lesson the hard way... after saying NAH I wont blow it YEAH RIGHT .......2 weeks to the day after it got Tuned... drove out of HPF on BVW II and it started whining then 3rd was left on a highway somewhere in sydney 2 weeks later...Don't bother with the T5 if your chasing decent numbers.. The twist (torque) that these motors produce is to much out out of stoker let alone something with some decent power, coupled with a good clutch setup and grippy tyres the T5 will munch itself.. POSSave yourself the headache Go the T56My 2c worth... miker Member 115 Member For: 18y 8m 26d Location: upright Posted 30/01/07 03:33 AM Share Posted 30/01/07 03:33 AM (edited) mine makes a shrill vacumm sucking noise when I accelerate in second between 2500 & 3000 rpm. I'm assuming it's the bearing closest to 2nd gear. but when you put a bit of pressure on the gearstick back towards your left leg it goes away so I don't know.................. anyone else had that problem? Very firm and I supose a little stiff going into gears. Its much stiffer than the old one so its definately a new one but same rattle problem as old one. Can the tail shaft effect a box in some way? Do tail shafts getting balanced have anything to do with the gearbox? How is this stock??You took the 968's out, so you wouldn't have the ability to munch your 5 speed?Buy a 6 speed box or sell the car.
