Just want to know if this is only happening to me. In 3rd and 4th gear at high rpm lets say over 4, 4500 rpm the box starts to sound like the gears are grinding inside and wen u hold your hand on the gearstick it feels like a jack hamer. The car is stock and the box is new with only 1000ks. The previous box did the same thing aswell and that's part of the reason it was changed.

it was just changed because of that and some other noise and the new box still does the vibrating. How can a new box be that bad. Could it be something else which causes it to vibrate like clutch or something, im not sure so dont laugh at my stupid questions.

Nesh

ive had a few troubles with my T5, ive taken it back to ford numerous times to get this grinding fixed but they keep telling me they cant hear anything and its fine,

the gear stick used to get stuck going in and out of 3rd gear and I took it to them last week, they looked at the gearbox and they said I had blown a dampner and they replaced that. when I told them about the grinding they told me not to worry because its nothing, it doesnt sound too good though when the accelerator is put on.

anyways, well see how this goes, and if its still no good, back to ford to get fixed. :fool:

I know how it is had to be driven 3 different times to get aproved. Everything is normal with these boxes just so they dont have to get replaced.

The funniest thing of all is that one of the ford blokes showed me on the computer how much a new 5 speed is, which is $5500 and a 6 speed $4500. Not axact figures but the 5 speed was in the 5k mark and 6 speed in 4k mark and was about 1k diff. How is the crapier box more expensive?
