the reason I changed was that I needed something better on fuel, and wanted a manual car. could not justify getting another t so I went with the sil15. the car I traded is also a bit quicker off then my T low to mid range

I'm not sure that it'll be that much better on fuel, if at all... my mates rex was really bad on fuel. Smaller motor, so you need to use boost all the time to make the thing move. If it is better on fuel, it'll only be by a few dollars a week. If you want something good on fuel buy a fiesta or something, only then will you actually notice the savings.

good luck with it anyways, hope it goes well.

If anything it's going to maybe save you 100 dollars OVER a year in fuel cost's..... :ermm:

Goodluck with it anyway you got what you wanted (for today...maybe tommorow) and that's all that matters. :fool:

Hell yeah it will be better on fuel - I used 2/3 the amount (in my 200SX) I do now for the same distance! :blink::nod:

I came from an XE 4.0 -> EF 5.0 -> 200SX 2.0T -> BAII XR6T 4.0T

and the Nissan had by far the better fuel economy and handling/response than my XR. Dont get me wrong but the XR is a family car dressed up as a sports car, Edit or not (I have one) the mods on a SR20DET will be more benefical especially comparing how much they weigh!

A change is a bit of fun I'm sure - I've only strayed from the Blue Oval once in my 8 years of driving - so I'm sure you will be back.

Good on ya mate! don't let these guys put you off! I have a 2001 ADM S15 and I must say it is more fun to drive then my T... :nod:

Sure it hasnt got as much power and is no where near as quick but who cares! honestly it sh*ts all over the Ford from a drivers point of view! Feel, handling, braking etc...

Congrats... :blink:

p.s - Should have got a yellow one, pretty hard to find a JDM in yellow! are you a member on the ns.com forums!?

yup car is gone, I am now theowner of qik515. black silvia jap spec with a bit of work. gearbox is what im worried about. but itsholding up fine atm

Depending on what spec your S15 is it could have come with either a 5spd manual (Strong compaired to some but if you break it the S14 gearbox is stronger) if its the 6spd manual start looking for a S14 (Turbo) gearbox now!

As for the SR20DE-T Don't let anyone tell you that these engines aren't strong, as they are! There is plenty of 500hp versions over here in 'the markets been flooded by jap imports' New Zealand. Hell I even know of a S13 with SR20DE (non turbo) that was running a 200hp shot of NOS on a standard engine!

S15 is by far the best looking of all the Silvia's/200SX's, and the best thing is you can get so much stuff for them (Suspension, brakes, exhausts, intakes etc etc etc)

And if your looking for a good cheep wheel package the 17's off R34's look great on them!

Only draw back I can see on the change is the whole 2 door 2.3 seats! and that you'll now be labeled as a Ricer Boy Racer! So you better go buy some neons!

500hp on a stock bottom end. :roflmbo: What ever you say then snailboy.Like I will say again. Those motors are a weak stock.Seen them crap out at 300hp.The overall package is good but I would be crazy to sell my T for one.As for modding.Tonys S 15 had cooler, unichip, custom exhaust manifold,Hi flow cat, full stainless system, fuel pump and injectors running 15psi and I still smoked it.Yeah they go good but it cost him sh*t loads to get there after rebuilding nearly every mechanical component. :msm:
