Need Advice On Used Xr6t

hi, everyone.

just joined this forum few days ago

I plan to buy an used BA or BAII XR6T in the near future. so need some advices on this car, especially negative side of the car.

1. I heard from somewhere else that the 4 spd auto box is not good enough, hav to fully rebuild after certain k's (170k ?) am I right?

2. The BA 4 spd auto is better than 5 spd manual?

3. I including BAII in my list mainly because of the 6 spd manual. Coz I really like manual. however, cost is a big concern. sorry to say that but I'm still too young (not P plate btw), I dun really want to invest too much hard earn money on car.

4. is there anything else I need to look at? I heard that the valve might hav some problem in early model, am I right?

initially, after I buy the car, I will do some mild modification; mags, CAPA, exhaust, and intake. hopefully can hav 400hp at flywheels or more. however, I hope my car performance level (acceleration) can match E55AMG with 5.4V8 supercharger (am I dreaming?)

btw, what is the different between CAPA flash tuner and APS unichip? which one is better?

any advice whether I should choose BAII 6 spd manual or BA 4spd auto. As I say before, I dun want to invest too much on car at the moment (may be waiting for the new falcon in 2008) but still want to hav some fun. All I want is the acceleration of the car, which one hav better result (4 auto or 6 manual)? becoz my mission is to blow all the skyline away (excluding GTR ).

2 things spring to mind..

Why I got rid of my XR6T..

Check the brakes.. The better brakes you can get for your dollar ---GET EM

2nd thing.. Check the brakes also ,, The better brakes you can get ... get em...

(you will find out why I say this when you own one!!)

PS ..... and get an auto too......... and an edit ,, injectors...exhaust and cooler.... Just make sure you ahve some brakes,,,,

You will find out why if you buy one........
