jabba Member 38 Member For: 19y 6m 29d Posted 26/01/07 06:36 AM Share Posted 26/01/07 06:36 AM I would not imagine that there are heaps of 300rwkw Boss motors around, so I am stocked to be one of the lucky few who have cracked 300rwkw from and exhaust upgrade and a new tune from Elite Automotive, who are by the way a Herrod supplier for QLD, and a Full built motor from Herrod Motorsport in Victoria....3 weeks ago I took my ute to Paul to adjust the AF's and spark curves and the ute has been running rich since I got up to QLD(after herrod rebuild), it could of also been rich because of the fuel I was using(e10-98)... It went in with 266 and came out with 282(back the were it was when it was in Victoria)... Paul had a thorougher look over the ute.. Paul did compression tests and all (bang on 225psi in every cylinder). Paul was a little upset that we could not get any more then 282 and was concerned that we could not hit 300rwkw... We both new that the exhaust was a problem and Paul want to try a few things out for himself... I toyed with the idea of a twin 3" system and even to the trip to North Brisbane to visit Kevin(GT290) and checked out his Difillipo Big Boy system...I decided on getting the Herrod headers with 3" Stainless cats and a custom twin 2.5" system... And along with Paul's handy work we netted a 20rwkw gain which brings it up to 302rwkw, and we are still using a 75mm throttle body.. I also want you to know that it was a bastard of a day with temp in the work shop of 38deg 60% humidity and a very wild storm outside, which did bring ambient temps down fast.. I had an 80mm SS T/B that we were going to use. But my mate destroyed it by trying to modify the T/B for bigger gains... Oh well, it happens and if you don't try we wont learn..hear is a Vid of the ute on the dyno, and I am trying to upload the scanner pic of the dyno print outs right now, But I am have problem doing so.. But I will persist and get them up ASAP... the images will have HP, KW, NM, LB, FT LB...

(forged pistons, Hbeams rods etc?)Also what AFR's did you end up with?Good choice on the twin 2.5" pipes as when I went from those to the twin 3" system on my blown application I lost a decent amount of torque to begin with?Cheers,Brett

What rpm will you be able to spin the motor to as I have heard that with a decent rod and oil gears they will spin at 7500rpm?Would love to hear a blown boss motor at that rpm...
