Snailracing Member 51 Member For: 21y 3m 7d Posted 31/01/07 08:27 AM Share Posted 31/01/07 08:27 AM Snail, you need to get a Territory with the SNAIL bolted tothe side of the 4lt motor....aka a Turbo Territory. It will pull your caravan like it was not there, but it will drink the fuel, but it would be fun blowing the doors off a V6 commie while towing a caravan ←Your don't need a TT for doing that! My mate was towing his caravan in my old ute, and he passed a VR Clubsport and a Nissan Primera going up hill!F'N big caravan too, and that was only a OHC EF engine that we had turboed! Posted 31/01/07 10:04 AM Share Posted 31/01/07 10:04 AM Launches like this normally coincide with a major Motor Show (Melbourne or Sydney). As there doesn't appear to be any Terry's running around with a diesel at the moment my best guess would be they will launch the diesel Terry at the Sydney Motor show in Oct.. They're a pain in the arse IMO. My mates and I have had our fair share of problems with them. Landcruiser still do not have compressed fuel injection and probably for a reason. If you are going around australia I definately believe you should stay away from common rail engines. They cost a fortune to fix and can be waiting on parts. My 2 cents. thebrunks Member 665 Member For: 20y 7m 15d Location: Gold Coast Posted 07/02/07 02:47 PM Share Posted 07/02/07 02:47 PM That's like any new technology!Altough Toyota have a huge dealer network around Australia, especially seeing as they supply a lot of Commercial vehicles to Farmers, miners etc. etc..Common rail is just a new technology, like EFI was, I doubt there would be a great deal of issues from Toyota! And as for parts, all diesel engine costs more than petrol. Especially the complex fuel systems!
