I'm one of the 400,000 Murcury Silver owners out there.

I do like the Ego now though.

I was told by the dealer yesterday that Murcury Silver was no longer available, and when you go to the Ford site there is no Murcury Silver available.

My friend is looking at buying a BF xr6T. They are all pretty the same specs, he has two choices Ego or Mercury Silver. I say Ego but he is leaning towards the silver.

I think you have your colours mixed up.

HgAg (as we know it here) Mecury Silver was discontinued in 2005 (from memory).

Ego is the closest thing, but a darker grey.

Lightning Strike is the real silver colour that every other Ford BA/BF comes in.

I owned a LS T and it was great as you never washed it and it still looked fine.

I wanted the TT in Ego, but had to settle with the wife on Seduce.

Tell your mate to get EGO as it is a better colour IMHO.

My opinion of Ego now is that is just looks like a "dirty" black car - honestly it is just the colour of my car when it's covered in dust and needing a wash. ...

I see that as an advantage with Ego..... you don't have to clean it as often.

Black only really looks good the day you clean it, and really shows the dirt from the next day (I have a black STi)

Ego also scrubs up well, but nowhere near as good as black, and to me it is a "dirty" colour, so never looks obviously dirty (not sure that makes sense ....well I know what I mean).

Mercury Silver was replaced by Lightning strike. Still just booring undercoat color though.
