It's been annoying me for a while, my drivers side window is becoming slow to travel up and down, so much so that I timed it.

It takes 7.5 secs to close for fully open. The passenger window takes 4secs.

Its not that it doesn't work, just slow as a wet week to close. :spit:

Has anybody else had this issue and had it fixed under warrantee? I think fords are notorious for this problem.

My passenger side window is the same, I think it is just the seal that is slowing it down.

I'd check that first :spit:

Mine is the same but its pretty random, some times it quick, some times it slow.

Hay guys/girls

I have the quick fix for this problem!!

its not to do with the switch its to do with the glass it self getting stuck to the sides

So what you have to do is get some CRC 808 Silicone Spray costs me about $13

spray it on the vertical sides where the rubber is all the way up and down, and dont be shy then just wipe off the excess round the window

should be fixed instantly!

My dealer told me that this is not a warranty matter.

The problem however is very easy to fix.

Apply small amounts of silicon spray into and along the full length of the window guide tracks - preferably using the thin tube that comes with the spray can. Silicon spray is available from all the big auto discount chains, it is quite cheap.

Use small amounts of spray to prevent overspray and apply spray into the guide tracks only.

Do not apply the spray to the window glass or the wiper rubbers.

Do not overspray onto the paintwork or the interior trim. Immediately wipe off any accidental overspray.

Run the window up and down a few times.

Repeat the spray application and the window cycling process until desired window acceleration and final velocity is achieved.

Fast (Turbo) Glass!

My fix has lasted 12 months and the glass show no signs of slowing down.

Regards,

aa

Cost me $16 from Ford when it was in for its last service to lube all windows. Due to it not being under warranty.
