I had an AU XR6 before this one and it was lowered a lot, I couldnt drive over certain speed humps or down some drive ways. I am looking at lowering this one an inch front and back, spoke to a suspension place today but they havent heard about the lowering kits for them yet. If anyone hears anything about the lowering kits for them let me know, thanks.

Are the aftermarket springs the same as AU or are they BA specific? If BA specific are they actually available yet? I'll wait and see what the car looks and rides like before I go touching the suspension. My wallet probably can't handle it for a while either!

Who are the main players in Australia, specifically Melbourne, when it comes to aftermarket springs and shocks? I'm as keen on upgrading the handling of my car as I am on increase the power...... Can you imagine what these cars are gonna look like dropped and Inch or two?...... Not really a 'rip the gutts outta your engine' kinda guy, but when I lowered my R33...... it made a HUGE difference to the feel of the car. Just felt so much smoother and safer...... and it looked damn good too!

Does anyone else plan to lower their car? Don't tell me.... in about 3 years???!!!!

Undoudtedly the best man for the job would be Rob Herrod. He is responsible for doing the suspension on my ute, his work is top notch.Like everything though don't expect to pay $350 bucks for the job like you would at pedders. This great quality work and all of Herrods work is covered by the factory Ford warranty. But if you want a complete integrated and fully engineered performance suspension package contact him on. 03 94645100. No I don,t work for Herrod but did appreciate his quick turn around on my car and his professional manner.

The Herrods kit come with new lowerd progressive rate springs/k-mac ratchet style camber caster kit ,labour and 4 wheel alighnment and cost around $1000 fitted.

To buy the stuff seperate - springs range from $130pr (King) to $165 (Pedders & K-mac) and the ratchet Caster/Camber kit is $295.

The springs are different to AU but the Camber kit is the same.

ummmm, this might be a stupid point, but....NEW CAR!!!! why the hell would you want to lower a brand car!!!! I could understand about putting in konis or something but different springs that just silly......I mean what about the warranty?? I don't want to downer but we don't know if these new BAs have any problems that will have to fixed under warranty and if we've been stuffing around with them the dealers (who would be footing the bill) would have no problems telling us the warranty is now void....

anyhoo that's my 2 cent.....

Dave.

The Herrods kit is sold and fitted through selected Ford (as are other Herrods performance parts) dealers so Ford don't seem to have a problem with it. Herrods seem to be the unofficial HSV of the Ford world.
