buy a "motorcycle trader" and check the front 1/4 for the joint that has L and P plates all over their adds. they have HUNDREDS of cbrs, NSR,aprillia's for learners.

dunno your state rules but most places are power to weight nowdays and dont hold the 250cc regulation anymore. maybe a 600 or 750 could be a good starting point if u feel confident enough.

With the new laws you can ride a 600cc bike as long as it doesnt have a certain power to weight ratio. Cant remember what it is now.

A mate of mine just bought a Comet something?? and its de-tuned for L and P platers. When you get your license they de-restrict it to its full potential somehow. I think he paid about 6k for it second hand.

My advice would be to buy a bigger bike, you'll get too bored too quickly with a 250cc sportbike. Just dont kill youself on it... a friend of mines brother was involved in a knock and run and was messed up pretty bad. Lost his spline and broke a few bones. Just recovered and back to work recently. They can be pretty dangerous, but its the other idiots on the road you have to worry about.

I've got a GSXR-750 with a bit of work done to it (130 rwhp) and it goes like a dog shot in the ass - best time of 10.4 at Eastern Creek down the 1/4! Great fun, but you have to treat them with respect.
