Tranny Edit

I am going in next month for bigger injectors, flash drive, and edit. To go along with this I am thinging about a tranz edit. I would like to hear from anybody who has done this to find out what the benifits are, down falls, and what it does to driveability etc. Is it worth it? Please help me.

mmkay, I will do my best. Translating your post I make the following assumptions

Injectors + Edit + Custom tune will possibly give you ~ 250-270 rwkw

This is not a bad upgrade , please ensure valve springs ( particularly BAs) are up to it. Also, if you are in an Auto or a T5 manual you will need to consider tranny/clutch / tranny cooler upgrades if you give it some stick regularly at this power level

Must have a custom tune with an injector upgrade or your car will run like sh*t or worse.

I am not sure what you mean by "flash drive" and "tranz edit" ( could this just be firming up auto shifts ???) Let us know and we maybe able to help further.

Just make sure that every time you add mods you either get a custom tune or a Dyno run to check the crucials as a minimum.

Best to get your bits have ' em fitted in one fell swoop as opposed to paying for tunes every time you add another mod.

Yeah. sorry to be a bit vague. The last car I did up was a V6 gt Capri and that didnt have all these computors. I have the 4 speed auto and have been told that I should get an edit on the transmiton. apparenty a similer job to giving the engine an edit. I cant see how this is going to benifit the car, but I am a novice to all this tech stuff.

I was told that the flash drive is the box you plug into the computor so can give it a custom edit.

The edit unit you have for the motor will do the trans as well.

Your tuner should be able to firm up the shifts for you

This is so under power the trans does not slip into the next gear as much so it does not burn the clutches and bands.

AWSOME!!! Thank you guys for clearing things up for me. Your god sent. I can rebuild mechanical stuff no probs at all but computors escape me Im afraid.
