The car doesnt build boost because the low first gear ratio doesnt place enough load on the engine. 1st is such a short gear that its all over before the engine gets a chance to build boost... :spoton:

hey guys I hooked up a boost gauge on my ba xr6t auto and im only getting 1-2psi in 1st gear and 6psi in the rest of the gears is this normal?? any help would be great, cheers rocky

I'd expect more boost than this.... however in lot of turbo cars, especially if higher boost is used (e.g over 1 bar), it is quite common not to get maximum boost in first gear... for the reason hiddeous has given.
