I really dont know.

My backayrd built AU "SNORT" Turbo with ring mixer LPG has done 38,000 on a 104k wrecker motor running 7 psi with a standard ECU.

It still runs like a charm.

Everything made after 1986 (for unleaded) has hardened valve seats, I dont see that LPG would be harmful to these engines. Its a high octane fuel, it doesnt have some of the carbon deposits that petrol has. I need to see 217,000k's out of this car for the lease, I dont think I will have any dramas. Do some googling on LPG and Turbos' with ford motors, there are some fairly hefty cars out there with LPG and boost. I know of one fairlane built by bensons at cardiff that I think is now 16 years old still running original engine, LPG and turbo.

I have four cars on LPG so I am biased, but you cant argue with the cost savings.

That is absolutely fantastic. It's really good to see the effort put into petrol engines FINALLY getting into LPG cars.

You should try and take it on a DYNO back to back with a stock petrol, see how it compares.

So does it run DUEL fuel then? I'd be more interesting to see a dedicated LPG turbo.....

At work we have a dual fuel (aftermarket conversion) Hiace van ~2002 model and it recently came back from having a new head fitted, presumably because the lack of lubrication in the LPG fuel wore it out. It does about 300-400km a day as a delivery vehicle, not sure how many kms it has done, around 250,000km I think. Maybe Toyotas aren't as suited to LPG as the Fords.

250,000 km's for a jap head gas or not is alot.

There is plenty of ba's taxi's with after market lpg running around that have done over 400,000 km's no worries.

And all just in time for the federal governemets new tax on LPG. No wonder theres a 2k rebate going at that moment.

The rebate will be around for a while and the tax will be here forever.

True, the tax however is capped at a much lower percentage than the petrol. The govt has been advising of this tax change for some time.

The only reason petrol is a little cheaper at the moment is the higher than average temps experienced in the U.S. and therfore lower use of fossil fuel based heating. Petrol prices will be back to those scary figures shortly.

18 months ago I was being told that LPG prices were going to rise to a point that LPG would not be a viable alternative.

Since then I have saved about $3646 by running LPG in my Turbo AU.

I actually dont want lots of people to get their car fitted for LPG. The less people using the fuel and the lower the demand the cheaper the price and the more money in my pocket - funding my lifestyle.

The more petrol company info that is circulated about the dangers of LPG and how its cost savings are eroded by this or that the more I actually stand to save.

People who do lots of miles will have already sought out the information about what is cost effective and what is not. The tens of thousands of taxis in our capital cities are still using LPG and still having LPG fitted to cars joining the fleets.

The cheapest fuel I can buy (LPG) is about 57.9c per litre. When I drove to Melbourne two weeks ago I saw LPG for 38.9c per litre. Now if I could buy fuel at that price I would be saving SERIOUS money.

Yes the tank goes on the right hand side oppisite the fuel tank just needs the exhaust modified to fit it.
