Don't get me wrong, some cams will give a little more power, but a bolt in cam for a stock motor will not be a huge change.

On an NA motor diff gears are probably the best bang for your bucks, they do not give you more power but make it feel like you've got more power.

has anyone here fitted a 20% underdrive pulley kit to their xr6 turbo? and what results did they get?

a 10rwkw gain is claimed for NA and turbo engines but have not seen one done on a turbo motor. I understand this is probably because it's seen as a small gain for the money which could be better spent elsewhere

since my car is an xt that I've put the turbo bits on, I want to get the most out of it without taking the boost past 10psi which would stress the engine too much

Why does no one put these on turbos when its the same motor as a non-turbo? Yeah I can understand that there are lots of other mods to do to turbos, but ive done my first round of mods and not prepared to spend thousands on a exhaust or new intercooler so just looking for a cheapish mod.

Because the risk of breaking oil pump gears goes through the roof once fitted. Getting a few extra kw from a few hundred dollars with 100% extra risk is defiantely not worth it!

Its only worth a few kilowatts and power is easily extracted with other mods. The N/A boys have no other choice as they cant up the boost. By all means do it, but your money is best spent elsewhere.

The motors are no different and you will probably see similar gains to the N/A boys. INTERCOOLER should be your next mod. 304 on the dyno but probably 270 or less on a hot day.

In terms of $/kw it's a fairly ordinary modification, unless as arronm says you're talking about NAs then you have no choice.

The only person that I know of that thought they were a great idea on the Ts was trying to sell them himself, but that dodgy bastard is no longer around.
